Break the Taboo- Wear White in Indian weddings!

Earlier, it was inappropriate to wear white at Indian weddings but the trends are changing now. Celebrities are breaking the taboo by wearing “white” ensembles at the weddings. We bring you the B-town’s fashionistas for some inspiration on donning the pale white color this wedding season. Let’s take a look!

1)    Sonam Kapoor

The silhouettes remove focus from the color and the drapes give a quirky twist. Keep your hair simple and not elaborate so that the focus remains intact on the draped silhouettes.  The cowl-neck over the sari looks very different and is another way to drape your sari.

2)    Rhea Kapoor

Wear a pristine white sari and a statement maang-tika to complete the look. Make sure the make-up complements the look. And, as winter is here, you can opt for full-sleeved blouses to beat the cold and still look trendy.

3)    Kangana Ranaut

You can wear your white net sari with a heavy blouse and go all bare jewellery. Wear a bright colored lipstick to accentuate the look. As long as you can carry yourself with confidence, heavy or light doesn't matter.

4)    Priyanka Dutt

The brides can also choose to wear the shade of white, if not absolute white as it is considered inauspicious in some religions in India. Wear a simple lehenga using heavy fabric and break the monotony by a bright green emerald Kundan necklace.

5)    Masaba Gupta

The hue is acceptable for evening soirees and also for big fat Indian weddings! You can choose to wear a cape-style lehenga minus the hideous blouse unless you are this experimental! Team it up with a heavy Kundan choker.

6)    Alia Bhatt

You can slip into a short kurta and a sharara, along with a dupatta to complete the look. You can add colors to the ensemble by embroidery and lace on the dupatta so that you don’t miss out on colour completely. Complete your look by these head-turning earrings.
